short grey days, 4 degrees Celsius, windy - this was the weather in Sweden in January. disappointing.
there is some knitting going on, but i fail to photogrph anything. waiting for (enough) sunshine, I picked some designs for spring, by DROPS. looking at these makes me think i should have booked a trip to Spain or wherever is sunny now.

luckily, both sunny weather and weekend have been combined today. what a change after weeks of greyness and darkness. added bonus was the camera i had in my bag :-). others were also enjoying the sunny sunday.
ever since i saw this
on Kim Hargreaves webpage, i wanted to knit this little something! it's truly my style. speaks to me in this hard to resist manner. stays at the back of my mind when i buy yarn or choose projects. (no, i could not and did not want to buy the kit from HK website; oh no, not for something this simple)
the yarn is a jeans-style cotton. i'm knitting with a jeans-y yarn for the first time, and must say, the hands are dirty but the effect will (hopefully) be rewarding. i am seeing something casual and practical and easily matching with anythig - a little top equivalent of dark blue jeans... (it wouldn't be bad to knit something practical once in a while.)
whoa, new year and new finished object! who could tell, that i can knit so fast (and not get distracted every half an hour or so). started: December the 28th, finished January the 1st. in the meantime, a lot of family duties (not at all unpleasant but time consuming all the same) were fulfilled ;-).

what else to say? i liked the pattern enough to knit it again
the yarn was somewhat difficult to photograph, with the blues and reds on top of the brown, especially in the dull winter greyness.
i am back in Sweden, and trying to get back to reality. it's gonna take a few days after all that laziness of my Christmas holidays in Poland.
