i don't like stockinette stitch

so, i cast on for a new project. it's based on the brown top by Lana Grossa, but i am going to change the collar, knit it more shawl-like. the yarn is a gift i got a few (10?) years ago and did not have any idea what to use it for. the colour is something in between first two and the last photo.

now i ~only have to make my way through the seas of almost plain stockinette, ugh...

grey leaves scarf

ready at last. just ~in time for spring, he he he.
i've seen the leaves pattern here, just a picture, though. i sort of figured out how to knit it (from soft merino by Wolle Roedel, again no badge to check the yarn details) and... it took me only 7 months to complete it. in another half a year, will be ready for wearing. this is called planning ;-).

a more detailed view of the pattern:

tubey 1.2

pattern: tubey
yarn: Siena Big 100% merino superwash (80m/50g) by Wolle Roedel. unfortunately, the badges were thrown away during the move so i can't give the exact colorway.
needls: 3.5mm

it's a warm sweater, nice to wear and enjoy during the evening walk. i like the pattern and the construction of the sweater, however, the pattern required some changes to fit my body shape (narrow arms and, well, busty chest).

Friday, the 13th

always has been my lucky day. always ;-)

the tubey is finished and drying. the grey scarf is being worked on, just to use the yarn up. the socks, well, the socks are a small project, side project even. so, i am looking for insiprations for new knits...

one of these?

a top (found in the internet, no idea of the original source)

another top (Lana Grossa)

and another top (Lana Grossa)

a shrug (IK)

or a sweater (Vogue knitting Spring 2005)?

Easter Xtraz

the Easter eggs typical to the region where i come from are decorated with the web-like drawings . the "pattern" is scrached on the boiled and coloured egg. these eggs can be preserved for many years (they sort of dry inside), provided the egg shell is not broken or damaged in any way. a small part of the collection of my parents:

YES, these were made in 1977. 30 years old eggs... whoa!

me, knitting tubey (getting there :-))

Jaywalker, aka socks #3

pattern: jaywalker by Grumperina
yarn: Sport & Strumpf Wolle Marathon (Wolle Roedel); 380m/100g; 45% cotton, 42% wool, 13% polyamide
needles: dpns 2.0mm and 2.5mm

that was a satisfying knit. i think i'll make another pair using less variegated yarn someday. i am not an experienced sock knitter, and this was the first time i used this type of the heel, so i wasn't sure how it was going to work out. it did very well.

there has been knitting...

indeed. i intended to finish them all in no-time, but somehow these knits tend to accumulate in various corners of the appartment, surfacing in a random order. i will NOT start anything else before they are ready, promise ;-).
